What Upkeep is

Upkeep is a Shopify app that rearranges products inside a store's collections based on how they perform. This policy explains what data it uses, why, and what happens to it.

What we read from your store

• Products: titles, images, prices, costs, inventory, tags and ratings where available.
• Collections: their names, how they're sorted, and the order of products in them.
• Orders: only which products were sold, in what quantity, for how much, and when. We don't read customer names, emails, addresses, phone numbers or payment details.
• The shop owner's name, to greet them in the app.

What we collect on your storefront

A Shopify web pixel records when a product is viewed or added to cart: the product, the event type and the time. It runs in Shopify's sandbox, respects the customer's privacy choices as Shopify applies them, and collects no personal information. We don't set cookies or build profiles of shoppers.

What we change

Upkeep only changes the order of products in collections you let it manage, and switches a collection to manual sorting when you ask it to. It never edits products, prices or content, and every change can be undone.

Who else sees it

• Our hosting provider, which runs the app and stores its database.
• An AI model provider, only when you use Upkeeper AI: your question and a summary of Upkeep's records about your products are sent to generate the answer. No customer data is included.
• Shopify, which handles billing for your subscription.

We don't sell data or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

While Upkeep is installed. When you uninstall, Shopify notifies us 48 hours later and we delete everything we hold about your store.

Your rights

You can uninstall at any time to have your data deleted. Because we hold no personal data about your customers, customer data requests from Shopify have nothing to return or remove.
